Oh yeah oh yeah.........worth a double blog

Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

In honour of the release of their remix album Most of the remixes we've made over the years except for the one for Einstürzende Neubauten because we lost it* and a few we didn't think sounded good enough or just didn't fill in lenght-wise. But including some that are hard to find because either people forgot about them or simply because they haven't been released yet. A few we really love. One we think is just OK. Some we did for free. Some we did for money. Some just for ourselves without permission and some for friends as swaps but never on time and always at our studio in Ghent, the Soulwax bros sampled almost an entire day's worth of broadcasting by Belgian's finest radio station, Studio Brussel.

The result? A one-hour promotional mix punctuated with the presenters' cut-up quotes. Nothing surprising if you're familiar with their stuff, but there was one track that caught my attention: an edit of Daft Punk's Oh Yeah intermezzo (featured on Homework) mixed with "Oh Yeah" vocals from by Blur, Prince, Madonna, Mick Jagger, O.D.B. and many others (tell us in the comments!). I know they've done a somewhat similar thing with Daft Punk Is Playing At My House by LCD Soundsystem, but I hadn't heard this version before. Correct me if this is old school.

* = Einstürzende Neubauten - Stella Maris (Soulwax remix) is a hidden track on CD #2.
